The Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG, released ambitious and stunning designs for a project in Hudson Boulevard, New York. The supertall office skyscraper, called The Spiral, is a 65-storey glass tower with a spiral of terraces overlooking the Hudson Yards.
The $3 billion tower will encompass 265,000 square metres, top at 306 meters and every floor is designed to open up to the outdoors through “hanging gardens and cascading atria” that connect to the open floor plates”, explains Danisch architect Bjarke Ingels.
Ingels adds, “The Spiral combines the classic ziggurat silhouette of the premodern skyscrapper with the slender proportions and efficient layouts of the modern high-rise.”
